“The Last Goodbye”

As part of the Global Pursuit, we were recently in Hanoi, Vietnam 🇻🇳 during the month of November 2017. One of the wonders of traveling is to be able to meet new people and the opportunity to collaborate together. Saunak Shah (Team PoP) had the chance to connect with local Hanoi-based creatives and produce a video that was for a long time a personal goal while in South East Asia. This one in particular is special because it's a nod to one of his favorite film directors;  Wong Kar-Wei.

Saunak says, "In this short video titled The Last Goodbye we were inspired by Wong Car-Wei's classic film  “In the mood for love”. In collaboration with local artists this piece (video below & photo series) is visually and poetically translated through the lens of Vietnamese styling, casting, mood and location.

IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE

“He remembers those vanished years. As though looking through a dusty window pane, the past is something he could see, but not touch. And everything he sees is blurred and indistinct.”
– Quote from "In the Mood of Love" by Wang Kar-Wei

“We love what we can't have, and we can't have what we love”
