In celebration of Instagram's World Wide Instameet Weekend in honor of Earth Day, Pursuit of Portraits hosted over 250 portrait-lovers in Central Park for the "Hello Earthlings" Instameet. Starting at 3 pm at Turtle Pond, the skies cleared just in time for the meet, creating the perfect springtime setting for portraits. In what has become the norm at PoP Meets, attendees who had traveled from near and far readily made new connections and collaborated with one another throughout the day.
The majority of the day was spent over a beautiful Photo Walk through the park that gave everyone a chance to explore different backdrops, and experiment both behind the camera and in front. After several hours, the group made its way to the after-party hosted at W Hotels Times Square, and reflected on the day over drinks. Later in the evening, those who could muster the energy enjoyed a memorable city lights boat ride sponsored by North River Lobster Co.
In less than three days, over 400 post have already been made under the #WWIM13POP hashtag. The entire team at Pursuit of Portraits is excited to see all the submissions for all six portrait challenges (Environmental, Street Style, Classic, Creative, Earthlings, Best of All) with prizes generously provided by Fujifilm, Pendleton Woolen Mills, Daniel Wellington, Palladium Boots, TenTree, and AdoramaPix. All submissions (excluding the "Earthlings" category) must be shared by Sunday, May 8th at 11:59PM EST and include all meet hashtags (#WWIM13POP #PursuitofPortraits #WWIM13) to be considered.
